Hakea varia is a tough and attractive WA shrub known for its striking foliage and showy flowers. It features rigid, needle-like leaves that vary in shape - hence the name varia - and produces clusters of creamy white flowers from late winter to spring. These blooms are highly attractive to birds and insects, making it a great choice for wildlife-friendly gardeners.
Hakea varia thrives in well-drained soils, handles drought and coastal conditions well. It is a open spreading shrub that grows from 1-3m, and is fround mainly along the WA south west coast and into the scarp.
